VF Lightspan, together with STECO, has been awarded a contract by SEVEN, a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, to deliver ETFE cushion systems, PTFE tensile membrane structures, and external steelworks for major entertainment projects in Saudi Arabia. As part of the country's Vision 2030 developments, ETFE is increasingly used for lightweight roofs and façades due to its high light transmission, durability, and ability to cover large spans with minimal structural support. This project highlights VF Lightspan's expertise in delivering advanced membrane and lightweight building envelope solutions for landmark developments.Read more -
07 | 07 | 2026ETFE Stadium Roof
An ETFE stadium roof is a lightweight, transparent roofing system made from ETFE foil cushions that are supported by an aluminum frame. It is widely used in sports stadiums because it allows natural daylight to enter, reduces the overall weight of the structure, and spans large areas with fewer supporting elements. ETFE is resistant to UV radiation and harsh weather, requires little maintenance, and has a service life of more than 30 years. Lightspan designs and delivers ETFE stadium roof solutions for sports venues worldwide, combining practical engineering experience with an extensive international project portfolio.Read more -
07 | 07 | 2026Artic Roof – ETFE Roof by Lightspan
The Artic Roof at the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) is a landmark example of ETFE roofing technology. Its lightweight ETFE cushion system allows large clear spans, maximizes natural daylight, and reduces the structural load compared to traditional glass roofs. The project demonstrates how ETFE can combine architectural freedom, energy efficiency, and long-term durability, making it a preferred solution for transportation hubs and other large public buildings.Read more -
29 | 06 | 2026Vector Foiltec Rebrand Lightspan
The Vector Foiltec rebrand to Lightspan marks a new chapter for one of the leading companies in ETFE building envelope technology. Following a management buyout completed on May 1, 2025, the business assets of Vector Foiltec GmbH were transferred to the newly established LIGHTSPAN, in partnership with the BEMO Group. While the company name has changed, its core strengths remain the same. LIGHTSPAN continues to provide ETFE roofing and façade solutions using the engineering expertise, project experience, and skilled team built over decades. The headquarters remain in Bremen, Germany, and approximately 60 employees were retained as part of the transition. The partnership with the BEMO Group strengthens LIGHTSPAN by combining ETFE technology with metal roofing and façade systems, enabling integrated building envelope solutions for international architectural projects. Customers benefit from continuity in ongoing projects, access to expanded resources, and a broader international network without changes to the company’s technical capabilities or service quality. The rebrand therefore represents more than a new identity—it establishes a stronger organization positioned for future growth while preserving the knowledge, innovation, and experience that made Vector Foiltec a recognized name in lightweight architecture.Read more -
